This seems to be the most asked question lately on Fictionalley.org in the forum "I'm looking for", so I decided to make as complete a listing as possible.

NR I haven't read this fic - While I have looked at every fic long enough to check it actually fits my list (and if possible to find out pairings and how long it follows canon), there are severals that I only skipped through. And severals where I only checked out the first couple of chapters.
NRC I have done more than just skipping through but I haven't read the complete fic.

Fics are more or less sorted by "importance". What this means is that my favorite fics, the ones that are better written and complete or updated regularly will always be on top of the list in a category. Fics that I didn't like, deem weird or which are most likely abandoned (and in particular short abandoned WIPs) will be farther down in the listing of their category.

This list most likely isn't complete yet but I'll gladly add anything you can tell me - as long as it fits the parameters:
- It has to be canon-Harry who travels to his past and then alters his own past, either melding with his younger self completely or at least meeting his younger self with the younger self knowing about the older being there. The past actually has to be altered. If Harry travels to the past because he knows he did and thus keeps the timeline correct, it does not count.
- Unless you can give me a good reason why a specific fic should be included, I will not take "Harry travels to an AU"-stories. This is about Harry time travelling! I will, however, accept fics where Harry is thrown into a younger AU-self instead of ending up in his canon-past.
- As for other characters doing the timetravelling, with any characters other than Harry it has to be only their mind travelling back. I only take Harry timetravelling bodily, no others. (For other kind of timetravelling fics, please refer to painless_j's Masterlist.)

Harry Potter and the Nightmares of Futures Past by S'Tarkan aka Viridian. (Or here) ##
Harry/Ginny. Ron/Hermione, Neville/Luna. At age 30 Harry finally has defeated Voldemort but the cost was too high: everyone he ever cared for is dead. So he sends his mind back in time to his 11-year old body.
It's the best known from this kind of fics and usually the one that spurns the "need for more like this". Really, really outstanding fic. If you haven't read it yet, I can really, really recommend it!!!

Harry/Ginny. Ron/Hermione. Mostly post-DH, only a few things happen differently - like nearly everyone they know dying, leaving Harry, Ginny and Ron as the only survivors. With the help of Dumbledore's portrait they send their memories back to their 11-year old selves.

Harry's Second Chance by DrT. (Or here). ##
Harry/Hermione. The Last Battle has been fought, and Harry Potter has won. The price, however, has been high. Nearly every person Harry cared for is dead, maimed, or otherwise injured. Luna Lovegood, however, knows a secret which will give Harry a second chance, a chance to make a better future for himself and for most of the people he has cared about.

Harry gets a letter from Snape in which the Potionsmaster tells him that he has been under Imperius and is probably likely dead by now. Thinking of Dumbledore's death Harry wishes he had a second chance, a second chance to undo everything he had done wrong - only to suddenly find himself on the Knight Bus again just before his third year.

What is Right by Emma Lipardi. #
When the war is lost and Harry dies, he is offered a choice: the choice to go back to when it all started and try to do it differently this time. He accepts.
So far the story manages to be quite original (in spite of the theme which is starting to get somewhat clichéd).

Harry/Hermione. During a fight with Voldemort Harry is blasted into a whole shelf of timeturners and finds himself back in his 11-year old body.

Harry/Ginny. Harry won the war against Voldemort but he lost everything, his parents, his childhood, his godfather and his mentor, what if he gets one wish to start everything all over again? Starts when he was eleven holding his Hogwarts acceptance letter.

When Hermione dies in battle moments after her powers are awakened, Dumbledore utilizes a centuries old spell to send Harry back in time to his six year old self.

Power of a Second Chance by IMuShin.
Harry/Ginny (?). Even after the destruction of the Horcruxes Harry could not kill Voldemort. He managed to defeat him and is keeping him locked up but is tired of having to live eternally, so he can keep watch over the defeated Dark Lord. He finds a spell to send himself back in time and tries it. Landing on the fateful Halloween he manages to save Lily while still disembodying Voldemort. Instead of pretending to be a normal baby and going to Hogwarts at age 11, when he goes to Hogwarts, it's as a teacher.

A 60 year old Harry discovers that he must travel back in time to save the world. Will things go as he plans or will Tom realize what is happening and begin to do things differently? Time will tell and innocence will be lost as Harry tries make right this time.

Harry/Ginny. Dumbledore appears in Harry's dream and somehow manages to send Harry back in time to when Harry rescued Ginny from the Chamber in second year.

Haunted Past by 2InsanitiesIn1. NR
On his 17th birthday Harry gets access to his parents' vault where he finds letters from his parents. In it his mother predicts what had happened and tells him to use the time-turner she left him and send his mind back 12 years in time. 5-year old Harry sends an owl to Sirius in Azkaban, telling him to break out and come and get him away from the Dursleys.
Story starts out promising but then the author had to add in Sirius having been in love with James' sister Zizi who now hides herself and their daughter Hermione under the name of Granger (but they don't recognize each other when they meet again). Remus had been in love with Sirius' sister Ara... To make matters worse, the story is badly in need of a beta.

Harry Potter and the Time Mage by MaxFic. #
Harry/Ginny. When it's too late, Harry finally finds out the power that Voldemort knows not: he is a Time Mage. So he rewinds time to pre-Hogwarts.

The first fic of this kind to be written afaik, and the one of the few complete ones of this kind so far.
Original, nice ideas, a bit simplistic at times and could do with a beta and some edits.

Time Turned Back: The Prisoner of Azkaban by knightblazer85. #
Harry/Ginny. After Harry has finally defeated Voldemort at the cost of many lives he figures out that Dumbledore played him like a puppet. Together with Snape who he has become friends with he uses a special time turner to get back into the past before his third year.
Complete. PG-13.

Keeping a Promise by Maple Mountain.
Harry/Hermione. To give himself an advantage Voldemort meddles with time, sending Harry's 15-year old mind back to his 11-year old self after obliviating him. Hermione with the help of Dumbledore returns bodily to the past to try and keep the timeline intact.
Original and well-written fic.

Harry Potter and the Potion of Time by Time Pensive. NR
Harry/Hermione. Years after Harry defeats Lord Voldemort, his loss of everything will make him give up the one thing he still has to try and get it back.

Harry Potter is given a gift for his birthday that allows him to have a second chance at his life.

Harry/Hermione. After Harry's death he gets a choice to go back and his mind gets sent back to his 12-year old self just to the beginning of PoA. Bad Dumbledore.

Backwards Compatible by Ruskbyte. (Or here).
Harry/Hermione. After decades of fighting, the war is over. Voldemort won. The light's last hope is a desperate ploy, concocted by an insane genius, that probably won't work anyway. Now, armed with an experimental tool whose limits even its creator didn't imagine, Harry must find a way to change history for the better and win a war that he's already lost once before.
It has an interesting concept, possibly a crossover with something, but I find the mix of technology and magic a bit weird. Unlike most other of those timetravel-fics which are mostly told from the point of view of older Harry, this is told more from point of view of younger Harry who just happens to have extra knowledge and stuff.

Harry/Luna. Whoever said revenge is sweet, knew what he was talking about. Follow Harry Potter as he fights to gain control of his destiny, understands the meaning of manipulation, and on the way discovers heaven as well as hell. Harry's mind is sent back in time to the end of his first year in order to prevent the death of the woman he loves.

Harry/Hermione. Harry and Hermione have defeated Voldemort - but at a cost. They get the chance to redo it and find themselves in their seven-year old bodies.

The Righting of Wrongs by Curalium Lacrimo.
Having managed to kill the Dark Lord, Harry now faces the Fates themselves. Watch as he's thrown back in time and given a second chance at life, a chance to right past wrongs.

Post-OotP (?). Dumbledore has manipulated the Sorting Hat to drag Harry Potter back from the future to his 11-year old self. Harry is vengeful and ready to kill to protect the past. It's just another independent Harry in the past fic.

I don't find this fic to be very well written. There are also some weird jumps that don't make much sense to me. And I don't like Harry being that vindictive towards most people.

Harry doesn't actually timetravel in this fic. He is some kind of seer who dreams the future before he lives it. It's still young Harry with memories of the future, so for completeness' sake, it belongs here.

Harry/Hermione. After Hermione is killed, Harry wishes for just one thing: to go back in time when she is still alive so he can tell her how he feels. When he reopens his eyes, he is back on the night Hagrid first came to tell him about Hogwarts.

Harry/Hermione. Harry wants a chance to fix things. To save Hermione, and tell her how he feels about her. What will happen when he finds himself 5 years in the past? Will he be able to make things right?

Harry Potter: New Beginnings by Seth O. Blade. NR
Harry/Hermione. Harry Potter is gifted with a new chance to stop the war, not only has he got another chance at the war, he has another chance at life. A Harry Potter Time Travel story. Manipulative Dumbledore. Dark Harry (though probably not evil.)

I didn't read farther than a chapter or two, there were just too many gaps in the background story for me to fully understand how Harry gets everything.

Let's do the Time Warp again by Rorschach's Blot.
Harry/Harem. A potion-accident sends Harry into the past and now he gets revenge on everyone.
Humor. R. Complete.
While I absolutely love his other fic, Make a Wish, this one is a bit too silly to my taste - though it does have a few humorous moments I liked.

Second Chances by Irish Valkyrie.
Post-GoF. Harry/Hermione. The Final Battle has come down to a fight between Harry and Voldemort. But what happens when a freak accident hurls Harry 13 years into the past? Will he be able to fix everything, or are some things just out of his control?

Story is quite interesting but neither Harry (nor Hermione for that matter who somehow kind of remembers parts of the future as well) act anything like four-year olds.

To Cross the Bridge of Death by swordchucks. NR
Harry/Ginny. Ginny Potter, driven mad by grief after the death of her husband, attempts an impossibly complex and ultimately fatal spell to reverse time. However, she didn't count on one vital detail.

Ashes in Our Mouths by feanor.
Post-GoF.(?) Long ago Harry has defeated Voldemort, only to be called You-Know-Who now. Using a rift in time he ends up in his body just after having defeated Quirrel in his first year. Friendship with Draco.

I didn't like the fic and didn't really manage to follow it completely as it somehow jumps from one thing to the next, back and forth in time, with little explanations - at least in my eyes.

Circular Reasoning by Swimdraconian.
Due to circumstances beyond his control, Harry ends up in his thirteen year old body with a war and a troubled future on his mind. This fiction is different to others because Harry's body reflects the changes: his body is in between his two ages. And he keeps everything he had on his person when he died and got pulled back through the Veil.

This fic is quite a bit weird in my opinion, probably a cross-over.

Time Turned by Rheniel.
A single moment of distraction in third year means Harry doesn't notice the time turner - until he jumps and manages to spin it. He's sent back to his eleven-year old self, and doesn't remember... or does he?

Curse of Fate by Mistress Nika. #
No pairing as of yet. Post-HBP (?). Thousands of years into the future, vampire Harry only wants to join his loved ones in death. However, his curse of immortality is absolute. Therefore he sends himself back into the body of his infant self, vowing to this time refuse eternity. When do things ever go according to plan? Unexpected changes to the timeline, people who aren't as they once were and more send his life spiraling out of his control. Because some things were meant to be.
Pairings: Harry/Snape or Harry/Lucius, Ron/Hermione, Sirius/Remus, past Harry/Ginny.

The Mirror of Maybe by Midnight Blue. ##
Harry/Snape. Post-GoF. Harry gets drawn into a mirror and during his short stay in there lives several years. When he gets back, he has the memories and reflexes of his future self but still the body of his teenage self.
(This doesn't fully fit the requirements for my list completely as it's not actual timetravel but it has Harry's older mind in his younger body, so I included it.)

Harry/Snape. Post-OotP. Harry gets drawn into a mirror and lives there 20 years, keeping the memories of his other life there and using it to change the future.

Starting Over by Kendra kkcme. #
Harry/Snape. Post-HBP. With the war over and everyone Harry cared about gone, he decides to use a spell that will take him to a new world where all his loved ones are still alive. However something goes wrong. Instead of a new life, he finds himself starting over.
Very original story. If it continues as well as it's started, it will be an outstanding piece of fan fiction.
Hiatus. NC-17. Chan. (Story isn't abandoned, the author needs to rethink and rewrite parts of it.)

Invictus by Tsurai no Shi.
Harry/Snape. The war has ended, and in the depths of despair, Fawkes gives Harry a second chance at life, but at a price: his sight.

Beyond This Place of Wrath and Tears by talriga. NR
Post-HBP. The war is lost, Harry Potter has long since been killed and in a last desperate attempt Snape goes back in time to just before HBP.
Interesting and original fic. I have only read the beginning as I usually only read Harry-centric but it definitely sounds promising.

I don't usually read non-Harry-centric stories but I tried this one and it totally drew me in. It's quite different from most of the other Redo-stories as Draco doesn't know a lot of the major facts and thus can't consciously change them.

Time, Interrupted by Madm05. NR
Harry/Hermione. Post-HBP. After she is murdered, Hermione's soul is sent back to her six-year old body by Divine Intervention.

Reads a lot like a bad summary of the six books. Extremely short chapters.

Out of Time by Rurouni Star. NR.
Hermione's got a convenient new thing called a timeturner that lets her get to classes in third year. But suddenly, a message from herself has her housing a known convict, and it's not so convenient anymore...
Her Twisted Timeline series is fabulous. Hermione is the time-traveler, but it's not from the older Hermione's POV, but the younger one. Her future memories come back slowly, in flashbacks and all sorts of things. At times it can be confusing, but I think the author does it on purpose; Hermione is truly confused as to what memories are of the present and which are of the future.
Sequel Shattered Moments

Not only does he appear in the wrong time, he also appears in another dimension. So he finally decides to adopt his other younger self. (As it's dimensional travel, story doesn't fully fit the criteria but it's well-written, so I added it anyway.)

Harry/Ginny. Just before leaving for Hogwarts finds a letter from his future self: "Get to know Ginny. Fate owed me." This leads to Harry and Ginny soulbonding the moment they meet at the station before Harry begins his first year at Hogwarts.
The original version goes till the ending of OotP, the new version only is a few chapters so far (end of PoA right now) but as good as the original story was, the edited and corrected version is infinitely better. Not only are most of the spelling errors, etc. corrected, it's also a lot longer and more detailled. Well worth the wait to get the corrected version up to that point.
