Harry has a phoenix

I'm taking fics for this list where Harry is chosen by a phoenix.

- No badly written or obviously abandoned fics.
- No WIPs with less than five chapters written.
- For fics where Harry himself is a phoenix (as his Animagus-form), please refer to my other list, Magical and multiple Animagus forms.
- I might add a third category for fics where Harry has an outstanding relationship with Fawkes - even though Fawkes stays with Dumbledore.

Amulet of Time 1: The Age of the Founders by Luna the Moonmonster. #
Harry/OFC, in later parts Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione. Post GoF. After Harry gets a strange birthday gift he and his friends end up in the time of the Hogwarts Founders.
Complete. PG-13.
Sequels Amulet of Time 2: Two Worlds, Two Wars, Amulet of Time 3: The Wolf and the Pelican, Interlude: Draco's Two Months in Muggleland and Amulet of Time 4: There and Back Again. Concludes first story-arc.
Amulet of Time 5: Sirius and the Sphinx Abandoned WIP.
Fawkes belonged to Harry before Harry asked Fawkes to stay with Dumbledore till he was back in his own time.

Facing Backwards by Antosha mickawber_fics. NR
Harry/Ginny, Harry/Hermione, Ron/Luna. Pre-HBP. Harry decides to throw a 25th anniversary reunion for the DA, and is forced to consider what might have happened if he'd chosen a different path... and a different partner.
NC-17 (one chapter only, most others are PG-13). Complete.

Harry Potter and the Manipulator of Destiny by Wheezy1. #
Harry/Hermione, Neville/Luna. Post OotP. Harry finds that Dumbledore has been less than honest or helpful with him, takes control of his own life and finds the training he needs from others.
Complete. PG-13.
When Harry offers Fawkes sanctuary, the phoenix abandons the manipulative Headmaster.

Harry Potter and the Paradigm Shift by kinsfire.
Harry/Multi. When Dumbledore threatens Tonks, Harry has enough and flees to America.
NC-17. Complete.
Fawkes abandons Dumbledore to accompany Harry.

Harry Potter and the Veil of Mystery by Semprini. #
Harry/Ginny, Hermione/Neville, Ron/Pansy. Sixth year. After Harry's success with the DA Dumbledore makes him the DADA-teacher during his sixth year.
PG-13. Complete.
Sequels Harry Potter and the Ring of Reduction Seventh year. Phoenix Intuition. (This takes place five years later and I didn't like it.)
Fawkes bonds with Harry in preparation for Dumbledore's death.

new The Great Betrayal by The Savage Damsel. NR
Harry Potter has defeated Voldemort once and for all at the end of his seventh year. However, the Minister convinced the wizarding public that Harry is far too dangerous to be allowed to roam free in society. Betrayed by his family and friends, and sent away to Azkaban for life, Harry is rescued by an unlikely person and flees to the unused cabin of his rescuer, having no other contact with the wizarding world. When signs of Death Eater activity reappear, and the Minister is murdered, the hunt for Harry Potter begins. Will he ever forgive them in time to save the wizarding world that he once loved? And who, exactly, are the Guardians?
Fawkes changes his colors as he bonds to Harry and has a new name, Kokutan.

The Lodger by Mad Martha. NR
Harry/Draco. Years after Voldemort's death and the end of the war, a lonely and alienated Harry Potter decides to take in a lodger. The result isn't quite what he anticipated. He has more in common with his new housemate than he expected, and together they learn to look life ? and the wizarding world - in the face again.
After Dumbledore's death, Fawkes comes to live with Harry and "approves" of Malfoy as his lodger.

Harry/Draco. Post HBP. Beginning with Draco's unexpected arrival at the Dursleys, Harry's summer after sixth year becomes filled with activity and many secrets. As his summer progresses, Harry generates several unexpected allies as he finds himself actively becoming the leader of the Light side.

Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione. Harry now knows what he has to do - find and destroy the Horcruxes and Voldemort. Ron and Hermione refuse to leave his side and they choose to become something that the Dark Lord will fear...the Trinity.

Ron/Hermione, Harry/Ginny. “The future comes one day at a time” – Dean Acheson. Set post-HBP. Harry, Ron and Hermione are preparing to hunt for and destroy the Horcruxes when help...and a warning...arrives in an unexspected form.

When Voldemort tries to force Harry to duel in the graveyard at the conclusion of the Tri-Wizard Tournament, things take an entirely different direction as Fate steps in to meddle: Harry travels to the times of the Founders where he spends twenty something years, Salazar bonds with him as his brother, after which he returns with super powers and a changed name (Heru Slytherin).

Dumbledore reveals another secret that he has been keeping. Will Harry be able to accept it? Will Snape? And what is up with Harry's powers? Severitus Challenge so obviously AU. OoTP spoilers, HBP does not exist... also abused and powerful Harry.

Harry Potter and the Heir of the Four Founders by Mione5. NRC
It's Harry's fifth year and things aren't going well at the Dursley's or Hogwarts. New powers, a prophecy and Snape!

Harry Potter and the Power of Time by RossWrock. #
Sixth Year, following OotP. Tired of the way Dumbledore and the Order treat him, and ready to face his destiny, Harry hides from Dumbledore and Voldemort both, dedicating long hours to muggle and magical training to take the fight to Voldemort for a change.

After Hedwig dies, she's reborn as a white phoenix.

Post-OotP. Harry escapes Private Drive to learn about the world on his own. Hunted by all sides of the war, he must rely on his wit and cunning to survive. Independent and dark (but not evil) Harry.

Harry/Hermione. Power comes in all forms. With Voldemort dead, Harry finds uses for his powers beyond magic. Why is the Order trying to capture Harry Potter?

Red Bolt of Lightning by A. S. Leif. #
Harry/OFC. Post-OotP. Harry has enough of Dumbledore's keeping secrets and runs away, hiding in the Mansion he inherited from Sirius.

Hedwig dies protecting Harry and his elemental powers allow for her to be reborn as phoenix.

The Refiner's Fire by Abraxan. #
Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione, Remus/Tonks. Sixth year. After a rare magical illness Harry becomes outstandingly powerful. He has to deal both with teenage-problems and more importantly with many plots by Voldemort and his Deatheaters to kill him.

Sequel The Time of Destiny, ficlets taking place during the epilogue On Second Thoughts and A Fox's Tale, one-shot sequel A Very Harry Christmas.
Harry has a phoenix called Merlin.

Harry/Snape. When Harry is tossed backward in time through a magical accident, he has no choice but to return the hard way. One day at a time.

Rising Phoenix by Herman Tumbleweed. #
Post-HBP. Harry/Hermione, Ron/Luna, Ginny/Neville. Harry gets to visit Azkaban as a guest of the Ministry, but doesn't stay. Many would like to know where the phoenix came from, and relationships are changing.

As Dumbledore before him Harry is chosen as the new Phoenix Companion.

Snape's Invisible Friend by teacherbev. ##
AU. Harry rescues himself as a baby and chooses Snape as his protector, why no one knows, because the toddler isn’t telling, and no one can see him but Snape. (Usually I abhor AU-stories but this one is outstanding.)
